Social media releases

About 2 years ago, tech writer Tom Foremski posted a rant called, “Die! Press Release! Die! Die!” Todd Defren and SHIFT Communications took up the challenge and created a template for writing social media releases, then followed up with a del.icio.us page that tracks discussion about it. Today, a number of services (example) offer organizations the ability to create social media releases that take advantage of the Internet’s multimedia capabilities.
