When pitches go bad

This post is from one of the most popular marketing blogs, the Online Marketing Blog by Lee Odden. As you will see, the problem Odden has is with the content of the pitch and the way the executive tried to distance the company from the pitch itself.

Earlier this year, Chris Anderson of Wired magazine (sound familiar? He’s the author of your book, The Long Tail) posted the e-mail addresses of all the PR people who pitched him inappropriately, saying he was permanently blocking their future e-mail. Here’s his follow-up post and check out all those comments.

So, aside from a genuine desire to get your story out to the public, there are important reasons to make sure your pitch is appropriate!
